The brewery is in a complex of railway buildings alongside Horsham station in West Sussex. The company was formed in 2000 by four former employees of King & Barnes  K&B; head brewer Andy Hepworth, John Tewson, Paul Webb and Tim Goacher. They were determined to maintain Horshams brewing traditions following the closure of K&B.;

At first they concentrated on bottled beers but soon branched out into draught beer and lager, including cask-conditioned ale. Prospect is labelled as Sussex Organic Pale Ale. It started life as a seasonal cask beer but its success turned it into a regular on draught and now in bottle.
The brewery is registered with the Soil Association for its organic products and is also a member of the scheme whereby craft brewers can identify the source of their malts and hops from local farms.

Hepworth & Co, Prospect (England)
Bottle-conditioned Prospect is brewed with Sussex pale malt with a touch of crystal malt. The hops are Admiral and Goldings. The beer has a burnished bronze colour and a complex aroma of leafy hops, woody notes, tart lemon fruit and cracker-like malt. Its intensely bitter and hoppy in the mouth with tangy fruit and juicy malt. The finish is long, dry, bitter, hoppy and fruity. A note on availability: Hepworth & Co only deliver in their immediate area. The beer is available in specialist beer shops in Surrey and Sussex and also in branches of Waitrose in those two counties. It is available by mail order from Abel & Cole, specialist organic food and drink suppliers. 4.5% ABV, 50cl, 1.95, Able and Cole, selected Waitrose.
