Sebright Arms Festival
If you are looking for something to do this weekend, the Real Ale Festival at the Sebright Arms in London might just fit the bill. The Festival will showcase the cask ales they have on offer, and
champion local micro-breweries which are enjoying considerable. Over 20 cask ales will be on offer, priced at £2.50 each, and it will be an opportunity to sample ales from local breweries:
London Fields, Redchurch, East London, and the Hackney Brewery, launching in late March, with a sneak preview for sale at the festival.
Food will be provided by cult east London burger van Lucky Chip, and music will be courtesy of one of London's most popular club nights, Gaz's Rockin' Blues. The Festival is on March 10th and 11th,

Afternoon Tea, Viking Style
The best of British meets the best of Icelandic brews? Prism, part of the Harvey Nichols group, has launched an afternoon tea menu with an Icelandic twist offering Einstök limited edition
Doppelbock Winter ale as an option for its Gentleman's Afternoon Tea. Prism, based in the former Bank of New York building on Leadenhall Street, London, has two bars open for drinks from Monday to Friday.
The Afternoon tea menu is be available between 12pm-5.30pm for �21.50. Located just 60 miles south of the Arctic Circle, Einstök - which means "unique" or "distinctive" in Icelandic - has
brewed its limited-edition Doppelbock with "malted barley and chocolate tones defining the traditional style, producing a deliciously caramel sweetness, and a higher abv of 6.7%."
Einstök is available in Harvey Nichols Wine Shops nationwide and other selected retailers around the UK. The Limited edition Doppelbock cost �2.75.
Staropramen Face-off
Next Friday (16th March) is you last chance to win a trip to the Staropramen brewery in Prague in a facebook competition they are calling the 'Great Fan Giveaway'.
Established in 1869, Staropramen has been brewed in the same location on the banks of the Vltava River in central Prague ever since. The new
online competition is "designed specifically for international beer lovers," as they will out "dozens of prizes to fans of the Staropramen, the spirit of Prague facebook page, including limited edition
posters, metal street signs, branded beer glasses and t-shirts." But to have a chance of winning the trip to Prague, visit their facebook page
and access the Great Fan Giveaway tab.
Against the Grain
There's a small but important market for gluten-free beers, though the examples available on the shelves vary in taste and quality. A Yorkshire micro brewery is celebrating after its best selling
gluten free beer has been shortlisted for a national award. East Yorkshire based Wold Top's, 'Against the Grain', has been shortlisted in the Free From Food Awards.
Commenting on the nomination, brewery owner Gill Mellor said; "We're really pleased that Wold Top Against the Grain has been recognised by the organisers of the awards as one of the country's leading
gluten free beers. We have done exceptionally well to compete with much larger breweries to reach this point."
The Free From Food Awards are organised by Foods Matter, the leading on and offline resource for allergen intolerance and sensitivity, and the results will be announced at a presentation
on 17th April 2012 at the Museum of London in Docklands, London. Wold Top Against the Grain is available in the the Restaurant at the Royal Academy for the duration of the David Hockney exhibition.
